Freelance photographer Jaleesa Collins and upcoming model and fashion designer Vonnie Ricks friendship is deeper than just a photographer and model relationship. They both have a connection that dates back further than that - a sisterhood that formed while they both served their country together in the Marine Corps.
While discussing a joint photo session for almost a year, the two finally joined forces for a weekend in DTLA (Downtown L.A.) to conduct a photo session that became known as the 'Vonnie Ricks "DTLA" Series. The session lasted more than 4 hours and took place at various locations and landmarks located in and near the DTLA area. During this session, the art of photography was used to send a powerful message through the use of fashion and imagery that was able to provide edge, cleverness, and soul to this photoshoot.
