BET Experience Attracts Thousands to LA During Fan Fest

Back for its fifth consecutive year, the BET Experience attracted thousands of fans to the Los Angeles area during its four-day music festival. Held at the Los Angeles Convention Center, the free fan fest offered music, comedy and entertainment along with a variety of family interactive activities, games, and live concerts.

On Saturday, viewers witnessed live concert performances from artists such as Cardi B, Young M.A., Kap G and Dave East on BET's Nissan Main Stage. Gold Link also came through with a remarkable performances while PnB Rock turned the stage into a party.

The Coca-Cola Music Studio stage saw acts such as the Taylor Girlz, Ayo & Teo, Christian Combs and Billion Dollar Baby. Zay Hilfigerrr and Zayion McCall blessed the crowd with a performance of their smash hit "Juju On That Beat" that had the audience hype and on their feet.

Powered by AT&T, the Genius Talks hosted by Charlamagne tha God featured celebrity guest appearances by Issa Rae, Nick Cannon and Ava DuVernay to discuss a number of topics from race and entertainment to beauty and social issues. Tracee Ellis Ross emerged on set wearing a bold orange ensemble with matching heels and hoop earrings showing off her natural beauty and hairstyle. Other notable names in the series included social media personalities Kendall Kyndall and Jess Hilarious.

The featured fan-favorite Celebrity Basketball Game and Dunk Contest sponsored by Sprite featured Flex Alexander, Rotimi, Big Boy, Stevie J, and Doug Christie among many others. The sold out ticketed event was one of the top spectacles leading up to the 17th annual BET Awards as Chris Brown and The Game split the MVP title after their team, Ballers, won against the Shot Callers coached by Fat Joe.

Sneakerheads also had a big presence at the 2017 BET Experience with a weekend of activities devoted to streetwear culture dubbed Kicksperience. Fat Joe's UP NYC pop-up store, NBA 2K17 gaming station and a meet and greet with Joey BadA$$ and Young M.A. gave fans the ultimate experience along with prize giveaways and other celebrity appearances during the buying, selling and trading amongst over 70 vendors including Project Blitz LA, Jason Markk, RIF LA and Dabombfactory.

A gospel celebration featuring Pastor Toure Roberts and wife Sarah Jake Roberts blew the audience away with praise and worship before a packed crowd on Sunday. The four-hour long event featured performances by Mali Music, Tasha Cobbs and Israel Houghton along with The One Church LA Team revealing a special presentation choreographed by director and TV personality Laurieann Gibson.
